Whale Watching at Mirissa, Sri Lanka

The Whale Shark is found in tropical and warm oceans and lives in the open sea, I was lucky to meet one of sharks in Mirissa sea. On the 18th January, I set off in the morning to Mirissa Sea for Whale watching.

We were not lucky much in the morning as we have to take the boat nearly 19 km in to deep sea. There we had  the opportunity see couple of whales.

On our way back the boat captain spotted the great Whale Shark. She was just one meter a way from the boat and we could move with her to see closer look as she was swimming and feeding with plankton, tiny prawns.

This is indeed a great experience in Sri Lankan south waters..
